She did it again...

Amazed me.

Aubrey came out of her room this morning and said with her huge saucer eyes. "Mom, Santa coming, bring Presents." I of course made her repeat herself... exactly "Mom, Santa coming bring Presents." How do you respond to a question like that. I just said oh honey not for a long time. Her eyes went back to normal, how sad!

JOE!

You know I got home last night and the jerk did take dirt out of my plant!

Aubrey

Last night Aubrey decided it was a good night to push mommies buttons. I was trying to figure out what to make for dinner. Tuesday nights are Joe's card night, and It seems like every Tuesday Aubrey is driving me to the edge of sanity. I try to get dinner cooked while Joe is still home, so maybe for just one second he can occupy her, well of course he had to take a shower. I turned to say to Aubrey get off the counter your not a seal, I slice right into my thumb with my favorite Pampered Chef Knife. Blood is pouring down my hand, and right as I shuttered Joe appears, Aubrey says "Mama urt Mama urt" (hurt but with a silent H). I head towards the bathroom with Aubrey right on my heals. Me see Me see, Mama urt. Not only was I making dinner for Tuesday I was trying to stuff peppers for tonight. I went through 3 rubber gloves mixing the meat, while I was doing that making dinner and trying to get my seal off the counter. I asked Joe please could you cut the tops off the peppers and clean the insides out. MY GOD he is the slowest person I have ever met in my life. While he was being so meticulous he decided that maybe he should save the seeds and try growing our own peppers. NOT IN THE SPRING this INSTANCE! HE needed pots and potting soil, I could of beat him with the peppers, I sent him to the basement with precise directions. Of Course he came up with the wrong pots and no dirt. He said oh well I think I threw your dirt out. Then had the balls to say well I will just take it out of one of your plants. I SAID ABSOLUTELY NOT! I said please don't due this now you have to leave in 15 minutes. Then he had the balls to say well can you just do it then... people wonder why I am so mean to Joe.

Aubrey proceed to whine all through dinner. I got about half way through cleaning up and had to speak to her about being a Seal AGAIN. Finally I thought I need to get this kid away from me. I said Aubrey do you want a bath she yelled NO. IF it isn't her idea well it ain't happening. SO about 10 seconds later she looked at me like OH MY GOD I just had a great Idea. Mama I need a bath I stink. I said what did you say. I need a Bath I stink. I thought YES! Through her in the tub and clean up the kitchen perfect. NOPE... she whined the hole time and I said if you don't stop we are staying upstairs for the rest of the night. Well that pissed her off even more, I put her on my bed, just long enough to run down stairs to let the dog in and turn off the tv. TO stick to my word so she knows I mean business. I start heading for the stairs and realize I hear no whining I turn around the corner to kind her jumping on my bed and she had totally undressed my bed. I said OH NO! There is no jumping on my bed, and you need to pick up the blankets. Well of course she said NO! I started picking them up and she finished proclaiming she needed my help they are eavy (heavy). I found a new movie for her to watch The Wild. And she laid next to me so good. At one point she looked at me had one hand on each of my cheeks with her face about a quarter inch from mine and said Look mom its a squirrel.

OH that made me forget about the night!

Then while I was in the shower this morning Joe came in and said Aubrey just told me to tell me that she loves you. Awwww. My girl is getting so big.

I caught someone being nice!

Yesterday I was back to K-Mart for the second time this week. Kmart on State Street is a major source of frustration for me and a source for some great stories too. It was bitter cold and the parking lot was still a frozen mess. I noticed this lady took a cart from the parking lot, and pushed it up to the store, she had a little bounce in her step, I thought to myself that was nice. Then I think we both noticed this little puppy tied to the fence right outside the door. Mind you it was like 20 degrees and the poor thing was shivering, and she bent down and said poor little puppy. Then she stopped in the first set of door where there was a movie display, and pickup up an empty movie case from the floor that obviously so scum stole. Then returned the cart to the cart corral. I thought she pushed that all that way, stopped to say hi to the puppy and picked up a movie and put the cart away. She turned and of course I smiled because I thought what a nice person. And it was Judy that I used to work with at the Museum. And honestly she is that nice of a person everyday! It was nice to see her especially on a day that I was struggle to keep the tears from flowing. It put things back into check for me!

Happy New Year!

We tried something new the New Years Eve. We went to a friends house for a party that included the children. Hmm, I thought it would be a great idea. Well I am not so sure now. First of all, I had a terrible sore throat, it wasn't even a sore throat it was like someone was stretching out my throat muscles, and major congestion, with a sinus headache. So I guess I didn't even go with the right frame of mind. The food was great! I ate like a hog. The men where annoying and so where the other children. About 11:30 one of the little boys ran into my ankle bone with a metal stool on wheels(it was an accident). Well with a throbbing ankle, screaming kids, and me being the only sober one. The responsible parent! I decided I had enough! I grabbed Aubrey tossed her in her jammies and got right in Joe's face and gave him the harriest eye I have ever given. And said I AM READY, go start the car. I think I scared him, because he actually listened to what I said. And the three of us where home in bed just in time to watch the ball drop. We wished Aubrey a Happy New Year she grinned with her sleepy eyes kissed us and then fell fast asleep. So it was a perfect ending to a hectic night!

Christmas

Christmas has come and gone so fast. So much thought, shopping, wrapping, cleaning and cooking goes for the preparation of Christmas and before you have time to sit and enjoy it... it is over. Kind of sad, kind of a relief yes. I was very fortunate to have off from the 20th to the 29th. My week off started out fast and furious! Monday was bitter cold, so for most of the day we hid out in the house, then headed up to Aubrey's Day Care for there Holiday Party. Which I stayed for, and really enjoyed being with all of Aubrey's friends. She is truly blessed to have her "sisters" and her "other mother". They made ornaments and had a gift exchange between all of them. Tuesday we headed to Target nice and early to get the last few minute gifts. Then we were off to the Museum to have lunch with Dale, his wife Jeanne and Jerusha. It was wonderful to be back and feel the holiday spirit. Walking those halls again made me a little teary eyed. Missing all of the good days with my peeps! Aubrey loved all of the tree's and the Confluence Exhibit, which is exceptional! Wednesday, We head off to my mothers out past the air port for our holiday with her. For the most part it was enjoyable. And Christmas morning... we woke Aubrey up at 7:30 and we had so much fun opening gifts. She is very animated and ex centric! I LOVE IT! Then by 9:30 we had to be at Joe's parents, that was complete and utter chaos. Imagine a 12 by 24 room 10 adults, and 5 granddaughter's one being 13 and all of the others under 4. OMG, I needed a Valium. But low and behold we made it though until the issue at dinner. One of my nieces (3) was exhausted and just had a little behavior, my sister in law handled it beautifully! However, of course my in laws, try under minding all of us on our parenting and she stood up to them as well as her older brother! I am so proud of both of them. Do I think my in laws learned anything by it well No. However, they were stood up to! Talk about uncomfortable situation! Then we were off to my parents and I had a wonderful time. It was enjoyable and everyone again like on Thanksgiving really enjoyed each other. Then Friday YEAH the day I look forward to every year, I go shopping with my mother in law and sister in laws, we were shopping by 7am. I actually have clothes now I woke up think hmm which one of you will be the lucky one today. Not O great what am I going to wear. But arrived home to a little princess that looked awful, her eyes were fire red and running green ooze as fast as you could wipe it. I said umm Joe we need to take her to the walk in, he didn't see any reason for that. I didn't give him an option I said go put her shoes on I will go to the bathroom and be right down. Yep Pink eye and an ear infection. So the rest of our vacation we were housebound. But I got all the laundry done all of the Christmas decorations down, and some organizing!

More Bad Weather?!?!!

To all of my far away friends:

Today they are forecasting for 8-12 inches of snow starting Thursday Night into Friday. My God is this normal for December? I have already missed 2 days of work due to ice. I don't want to miss any more, If I can't come in Friday I will have to work Monday and I am supposed to be off all next week!!!!

I guess I should of bought Aubrey that Snow Man making kit at The Christmas Tree Shop. She is just like her mom. She really doesn't prefer snow. I have started calling her "Mini Me" all she needs is another nick name!

Holiday Drama

OMG! My family is crazy, Joe's family is crazy. SO in turn I am going CRAZY!! Not only am I not done shopping, I am the worlds slowest wrapper and that is only half way done. I try to do a lot on my hour Paid lunch, which, being right in the middle of Bingo that is usually not an issue. However, I think everyone in the freaking town is out and believe me when I say, They also are freaking crazy, and mean. I went to the mall yesterday to pick up Aubrey's pictures, and I honestly don't think one person smiled or was even a little kind. One of the things I loved about being pregnant was that EVERYONE was nice to me, and I often said it was like Christmas for 6 months, people holding the door, being friendly, and some even chatty. I don't think I have run into any one with an ounce of kindness this year. So please be friendly to a stranger today!

I'm not the only one

Today I found someone with the same phobia as myself. Yep there is one other person in this world that is afraid of DEER! My new friend at work! And yes she is as afraid as I am, she has screamed and ran back into the house too. Today I will tell her some of my deer tales and well as my dear friend Dales!
